Emberfold
Made in the foundry. Finished by hand.
Emberfold started with one question: what does a cast iron pan look like when nothing is rushed.
See the pansThe work
Every pan begins as molten iron poured into a hand-packed sand mould. The casting cools slowly. The cooking face is milled flat on a machine built for precision. Then the seasoning starts — six rounds of oil and heat, each one baked in before the next begins.
There is no shortcut in this process that does not show up later in the kitchen. So we do not take one.
The foundry
Sand casting produces a dense, consistent grain. It is an old method and the right one for cookware built to last decades.
The mill
A milled cooking face makes contact with the heat plane evenly. Seasoning adheres better and food releases more cleanly.
The seasoning
Six rounds of oil and heat before shipping. The seasoning is structural, not decorative. It protects the iron and builds with every cook.
